Why Do We Have To Ask God To Provide?

Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, Matthew 6:10-11
Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Matthew 6:8

Our LORD Jesus said in Matthew 6:8 that our Heavenly Father knows our needs even before we ask Him. Then, three verses later, He  taught us to pray,  ‘give us this day our daily bread’. If our Heavenly Father already knows our needs, then why do we need to pray — to ask God for our daily bread?

The reason is because we are in a fallen world. The god of this world is Satan. In John 18:36,  Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place. (New International Version). Hence, bad things do happen. Nevertheless, because of the finished work that our LORD Jesus have completed on the cross, we can unlock the power of God simply by FAITH. Simply by believing that God loves us, we can overcome Satan.

When we believe that God loves us and will help us, very naturally, we will run to God and ask of Him, everything that we need. Prayer is simply a manifestation of our faith.
